The Charminar also widely known as the “Arc de Triomphe of the East” was constructed in the year 1591, by Sultan Muhammed Quli Qutb Shah, the founder of the Hyderabad city. The architect of Charminar was Mir Momin Astarabadi and the city of Hyderabad was planned around it.
