Qutub Shahi tombs walk: Qutb-ul-Mulk ki Kahani

This is a monument heritage trail at the famous necropolis of Hyderabad. It is popularly known as Seven tombs. Qutub shahi’s established a fortified citadel called Golconda on the hill and they ruled for 170 years. Qutub shahi sultans were great patrons of art, literature and architecture.  They were the last ruling dynasty from the Bahmani kingdom who encouraged the Deccani style of architecture. Qutub shahi tombs are one of the iconic examples of Deccan architectural style with bulbous domes and intricate carving on stucco walls.

One can experience the grandeur and opulence of the Qutb Shahi period by visiting the dynasty’s tombs complex. It was under the guidance of Sultan Quli Qutub-ul-Mulk the founder of the Qutub Shahi dynasty that the construction of the tomb complex began. They are the resting place for the members of the Qutb Shahi royal family and a few other royal favorites.

Wear comfortable clothes and shoes for the experience. Parking facilities for buses or cars are available inside the Tomb complex. Photography is not allowed in some tombs which will be announced by the walk leader

Meet your heritage walk director in the starting point of the tour. The heritage walk director will explain about architectural beauty of Deccani style which was patronized by great Qutub Shahi Sultans. .
