This heritage trail at the most famous and oldest market of Hyderabad starts from a lacquer workshop at Laad Bazaar to understand the craft and interact with the artisans. It will take you to see some of the dying professions and local craft of Charminar area toward the Mehboob chowk.
This lane is called Laad bazaar or Chudhi bazar, Laad word comes from Lac or Lacquer. It is a historical bazaar which was made during the time of V Qutub Shahi Sultan for selling all sorts of decorative items and ladies products. But almost 150 years ago it got the name of Laad bazar because lacquer bangles were being sold. This will be an experience of knowing the craft and then buying original lac bangles from the craftsmen directly.
The main significance of these bangles are worn by the elite family women on special occasion like wedding, tij fest, diwali and on Eid
